Your Opportunity Starts Here

At Ceres Management, we want every candidate to have a fair, comfortable experience. That’s why we use one-way video interviews (also called asynchronous video interviews) — a simple, flexible way for you to share your story, on your schedule.

What Is a One-Way Interview?

A one-way interview is a short video interview where you record your answers to pre-set questions, without a live interviewer on the other end. You complete it online, from anywhere, at a time that works best for you.

Instead of scheduling a call, you’ll receive a link with a series of questions. You can read each question, think about your answer, and then record your response on video. It’s designed to remove the pressure of a live conversation while still giving you the chance to show who you are beyond your CV.

The process is simple, intuitive, and mobile-friendly. You don’t need to download any software, and you can complete the interview in one sitting or take short breaks between questions if you need a moment to reset.

Benefits for Candidates

Interview on your schedule

No need to take time off work, juggle childcare, or rush to a meeting. You choose the time that suits you best within the interview window.

No live pressure

There’s no one watching in real time. You can take a breath, gather your thoughts, and record when you’re ready, without the stress of a live call.

Equal opportunity

Every candidate receives the same questions and the same amount of time to answer. This helps create a fair and more consistent process, focused on your skills and potential.

Faster hiring

Because interviews can be reviewed quickly and consistently, decisions are often made faster. That means you hear back sooner about next steps.

Show your personality

Video gives you space to share your energy, communication style, and motivation — all the things that don’t always come through on paper.

How It Works

  1. Receive your interview invite by email. We’ll send you a link with everything you need to know, including the deadline to complete your interview.
  2. Click the link and set up in minutes. Open the interview in your browser on a computer, tablet, or phone. There’s no software to install — just allow access to your camera and microphone.
  3. Review each question and record your answers. You’ll see each question before recording. Take a moment to think, then record your response. You’ll move through the questions one at a time.
  4. Submit and we review. Once you’re happy with your responses, submit your interview. Our hiring team reviews your answers at the next opportunity and we’ll follow up with you as soon as we can.

Tips to Ace Your One-Way Interview

We know this format may be new for you. These simple tips can help you feel more confident and prepared when it’s time to record.

  • Find a quiet, well-lit space. Choose a spot where you won’t be interrupted, with light facing you (for example, near a window) so your face is clearly visible.
  • Set up your device securely. Place your phone, tablet, or laptop on a steady surface at eye level so you can speak naturally and hands-free.
  • Dress as you would for an in-person interview. Wearing something professional and comfortable can help you get into the right mindset.
  • Be yourself. We’re interested in your skills, experience, and personality. Speak as you would to a future colleague, and let your enthusiasm for the role show.
  • Answer naturally, don’t over-rehearse. It’s helpful to think about examples and key points beforehand, but you don’t need a script. Authentic, clear answers are more important than perfection.
  • Take a moment before each question. Breathe, read the question carefully, and gather your thoughts. A few seconds of silence at the start is completely fine.
